Mary’s “Map It and Make It Happen” Workshop was a wonderful addition to our annual Winter Workshop. She offered our Resident Advisor staff the opportunity to look at their personal space and better understand how placement and arrangement could affect their mood,well-being and future. This workshop was informative and fun…a great break from the traditional training.

I had not slept well in over six months and was stressed about my schoolwork. In two hours, Mary Roberts taught me basic feng shui principles and gave me tools to make changes in my room. In one weekend, I cleared clutter, rearranged furniture, and placed objects and posters to support my learning, relationships and well-being. The first night after I made the changes Mary suggested, I slept for 13 hours—and I continued to sleep well until graduation.

Before feng shui, I studied until 2 or 3 a.m. After feng shui, I wanted to get to bed earlier. I realized that the later I stayed up, the less focused I was the next day. Also, my room felt calmer and more spacious, and I found that I could study more efficiently. I didn’t need the extra 1 - 2 hours to complete my work, and my grades stayed the same.

I was more relaxed, and I loved being in my room.
